Art Union Humanscape Duo: Jason Roebke, double bass & Ayako Kato, dance

The AUH duo has been active since 1998 and their music and dance performance is highly acclaimed in the New York Times, Luzerner Zeitung, Switzerland, and beyond.

This duo has been presenting the non-hierarchical relationship of dance and music, and the best manner of coexistence through movement and sound. The piece encourages audience members to be active viewers, inviting them to experience unexpected realms of the complex system enriched with space, silence, and stillness. The physicality of music, the musicality of dance, and the constant merger of the two create the absolute moments which are fundamental and larger than humans can control along with the tangible and intangible, and all in between. Visit Dance & Music page for more details.

30-60 minutes with possibilities of duo itself and/or collaboration with musicians and dancers. Watch “Eclipse” supported by Walder Foundation, Elastic Arts, and Constellation.
